Look past the logo

I was kinda mad at the timing of these photos. The lady was super nice and tried really hard to get great photos. (And she actually did awesome considering the circumstances...) but my room was cold and my baby was hungry.
Nevertheless, because she's my baby I thought they looked pretty cute so we bought some prints for her room.

Bring in the brothers

*can you tell I'm scared to death?
Like holy crap- how am I gonna handle 4 kids scared.

Upstairs

My favorite part of having a csection is getting to spend the first couple days alone with my baby...of course we LoVE visitors but it's always fun to get a little break from the demands of motherhood and be waited on and snuggle with the cutest newborn alive.

Waiting for a room upstairs.

9/24 7:05 am

It is a girl! And she's beautiful!
And boy was she a screamer.
That's all I can remember the nurses saying "whoa! What are your brothers going to think of that!"
She was born at 7:05 am
7 lbs 9 oz
20 inches long
It's funny how time moves after those moments of delivery.
I blame 8 months of anxiety.
2 months of pain
And 20 minutes of tugging
But the second my babies are born and I see them and see whether they cute or scary looking my body crashes and i have the hardest time staying awake.
(Hence the reason why dr. Marsden had to pull Evie off my boob, and why Wyatt has been taking the kids to the appts for the last couple months)
Anyway, I brought all that up because I just noticed the time up there on that clock- looks like 7:25ish...I could of sworn it only took 5 minutes to get her all bundled and ready for this pic.
I'll have to have Mr. Oliver fill in the time gaps.
I was so very happy to finally meet my little girl!

9/24 6:30 am

Dr. Lunt came in with his awesomeness + his fantastic smile and asked "Are you sure you never never never never want to be pregnant ever again?" I assured him that "As long as this baby was indeed a little miss, I was sure" then I also asked him to be sure and remove excess EXCESS scar tissue. ;) and he laughed and walked away the bum.
Everything seems so surreal once you get your epidural. (All 4 times I've been going on hardly any sleep, so I'm sure that doesn't help) but I have to say Dr.  Josh Larson was by far the best anesteologist I've ever had. When he fist walked in I almost died- he looked like he was 20 and I remember thinking. "Noooooo go get someone who has graduated and knows what they are doing!" But I soon ate my words. The spinal went wonderfully and he kept my nausea down- I wasn't dry heaving and I could actually look at her and hold her right away!
It's funny to hear the doctors talking during the surgery. They talk about their families and their recent trip to lake Powell and how they are thinking about buying a big blob for their houseboat and about their missionaries...it's so fun to listen to how non-chaelant they all are...
Thank goodness for the sheet hanging in front of me. I can't feel any pain but I can sure feel tugging and hear snipping. (Kinda gross) and I just sit and wait and occasionally tell Mr. Oliver to "stop trying to look over the sheet and see my insides!" were close, but I don't know if were THAT close.
Then I wait, and wait patiently to hear suctioning and a cute little cry....

09/24 5:00 am

I didn't sleep the entire night of the 24th.
I was so very excited and so very nervous I would miss the 5:00 am hospital required time.
(The funny thing is, no one told Dr. Lunt that he had a csection scheduled for 7:00 and I heard him asking Dr. K if he too had "just heard about this 20 minutes ago")
The was me snapping some stupid selfies trying to stay awake for that last hour...finally I got to wake Mr. Oliver up and include him in the selfies too.
We said a prayer, kissed the boys and headed off to the hospital.
Having a baby just a little over a year before then made it easier to remember what I was in for. Because I'm a difficult stick I had my cute friends at IV therapy give me my IV the afternoon before.
That's what that cute thing is there on my arm...
I was so proud for being on top of things and elated that I didn't have to be poked a million times...buuut I forgot they have to draw stupid labs before I come in. So I had to get poked anyway. And the lady couldn't get my vein. So it was kinda funny- but made me feel even more grateful that I had put the IV in the day before.
Mr. Oliver gave me kisses and then they whisked him away to get dressed up in his gear as I was wheeled away to the operating room.
